Industry Need-to-Know: ACPC 2019
The Annual Air Carriers Purchasing Conference Moves to Washington, DC for 2019
What’s in this blog:
- The Aereos family of companies is excited to attend ACPC again this year
- Unique conference delivers business and social agendas
- 747 registered aerospace suppliers, nearly 60 airlines attending
- “An airline attendee can meet more suppliers in the four days of the conference than they would have time to see in their office in an entire year.”
Billed as “the most productive aviation conference worldwide,” ACPC 2019 is a few short weeks away. This year, 59 different airlines will be in attendance, including some of the largest fleets in the business – a far cry from the ACPC’s humble roots. Nearly 750 supply companies will be attending as well, including several divisions fromthe Aereos family: Airline Component Parts, Atlas Aerospace and Aereos Interior Solutions.
ACPC began in 1956 to address the unique issues of smaller airlines, short haul markets, and regional buyers and sellers. The Aereos family of companies is no stranger to this annual event, we are proud to have grown over the years just as ACPC has grown.
What is the ACPC
The Air Carriers Purchasing Conference brings together buyers and sellers of aviation related goods and services with its Sunday “Aviation Networking Forum.” This forum provides the opportunity for Suppliers to rent a table at a nominal cost in a one-day exhibit. All tables are uniform and rules are strictly enforced to provide a “fair playing field” for all participants. Three more days of activities and networking activities follow, including professional development sessions, lunches, banquets and receptions, and a charity golf tournament. The final two days of the conference, Monday and Tuesday, include airline roundtables with 10-minute face-to-face meetings with decision makers in the industry.
Networking is the primary goal of the ACPC – the low conference fee was intended to help out regional airlines and smaller companies competing with the big boys. Suppliers have the opportunity to meet airline representatives from all over the world. This also provides companies the opportunity to build relationships with other suppliers. As an example, many Aereos companies have capabilities that other supply companies lack. Many beneficial partnerships of this sort begin at ACPC.
The Aereos family of companies will be attending the ACPC 2019 in Washington, DC from August 10-13. The Aereos divisions have a long history with the ACPC including several employees that volunteer for ACPC year after year. More information on our host tables will be coming shortly – we look forward to seeing you there.
From their website:
The structure of the ACPC is primarily a networking meeting between the Airline Purchasing Representatives and Supplier Company Representatives. The conference provides both a business and social agenda, and with this mix, everyone has the opportunity to develop relationships, as well as learn concepts that will aid them in everyday business decisions. All the functions at the ACPC provide an atmosphere that nurtures friendships, strengthens business and gives everyone the opportunity to develop relationships.
